Anyone who has ever visited or seen pictures of Hawai'i knows it is a tropical paradise with beautiful beaches, lovely hula dancers, and sunny skies. While this is true, unfortunately, not many tourists go beyond the sun, sand, and surf of Waikiki and really learn about Hawai'i -- its history, people, culture, beliefs, issues, and concerns. As an edu-tourism organization, we want visitors to experience more than the typical Hawaiian vacation. We want them to see Hawai'i is not only a beautiful place to relax and have fun, but a place of diverse people rich in cultural heritage. In return, we hope our foreign visitors can share with us too, and Hawai'i locals can thus also benefit by seeing tourists are not just about spending money and taking pictures.
